What is an ECEN Voluntary/Community Rep?

This is a person who represents the views of the voluntary and community sector on the Enfield Strategic Partnership (ESP), Thematic Action Groups, Health and Social Care Board, Health and Social Care Partnership Boards and/or the Local Economic Partnership. They are voted for by ECEN members at elections. The main purpose of their role is:

  • To ensure effective voluntary & community sector involvement and participation in the ESP and supporting structures.
  • To attend meetings of the ESP and/or ESP supporting structures
  • To ensure the views of the voluntary and community sector are fed back to the ESP and supporting structures, thus facilitating a process where the voluntary and community sector directly influences decisions made at strategic level
  • To report back to the ECEN on key issues raised and action agreed at the ESP and/or supporting structures meetings they attend, so that the voluntary and community sector is fully aware and involved in local issues

ECEN reps are required to commit to the following:

  • To serve at least 2 years as a rep
  • To attend ECEN meetings (held 4 times a year) to raise awareness on local issues
  • Attend ESP, Thematic Action Group or Partnership Board meetings as required
  • To take part in ECEN reps meetings, pre-meetings and occasional extra meetings as required
  • To undertake Effective Representation and other training needs to increase skills as a rep
  • Attend planned pre-meetings and away days

All ECEN reps are accountable to the ECEN.  Reps are expected to provide regular feedback reports on the meetings they attend which are made available to the whole voluntary and community sector.
