How the ECEN Works

The ECEN aims to support voluntary and community sector involvement on the Enfield Strategic Partnership (ESP), Thematic Action Groups, Health and Well Being Board, and Health and Social Care Partnership Boards.

ECEN was originally funded through the The Community Empowerment Fund (CEF).  This was set up by the Government to help voluntary and community groups and residents' groups get involved as equal and full partners in the Enfield Strategic Partnership (ESP), Health and Well Being Board, and supporting structures.

Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA) was commissioned by the Government Office for London to administer the Fund.  An ECEN Steering Group was formed to co-ordinate the activities of the ECEN.

ECEN is now funded directly by the ESP as part of Enfield's Local Area Agreement with Central Government.  EVA is still the responsible body for the ECEN.

The ESP have agreed that a total number of 29 representatives can be elected to positions on the ESP Board and Thematic Action Groups.  There are also spaces available on the health and social care partnership boards for co-opted specialist representatives. This means that the voluntary and community sector have the opportunity to be involved in every aspect of the way services are delivered within Enfield.

Only ECEN elected representatives can take up positions on the ESP Board and Thematic Action Groups.

ECEN elections take place every three years.

For more information see the ECEN Membership Information Pack and the ECEN Election Information Pack.

ECEN Steering Group

The ECEN Steering Group is a group of people who get together to agree ECEN objectives and plan its development. Members of the Steering Group are from a wide range of voluntary/community organisations in Enfield. They are elected by the ECEN membership and serve for a period of three years.
