Report from ECEN's Second Representation and Involvement Meeting Now Available

ECEN's second Representation and Involvement Meeting took place on 25 March 2010.  During the first part of the meeting there were seven discussion groups, which were directly linked to the Enfield Strategic Partnership's thematic action groups and were facilitated by the ECEN representatives.  The groups focussed on the following themes:

  • Children and Young People
  • Crime and Safety
  • Employment and Enterprise
  • Health and Well-being
  • Housing and the Environment
  • Leisure and Culture
  • Older People

Following the discussion groups, there was a feedback session where information gathered from the groups was fed back to the wider group.

During the buffet participants had the opportunity to view displays by the ECEN, Enfield Strategic Partnership, Enfield LINk and Enfield Council's Place Shaping Team, as well as looking at information about hate crime and teenage pregnancy.

The second part of the meeting was a formal ECEN meeting, during which the ECEN Manager, Maureen Juliana-Harvey, provided an update on ECEN's recent activities including the Local Area Agreement (LAA) Forums and results of the ECEN Specialist Participant selection process

As with the first Representation and Involvement Meeting in November 2009, the themed discussion groups were very popular and raised lots of interesting issues.  ECEN Thematic Action Group (TAG) representatives have been asked to take forward some of the comments and suggestions which came out of the discussion groups to the TAG meetings they attend and to let ECEN know the outcome of those discussions.
