The ECEN will work towards equality of opportunity for all to participate in the work of the ECEN and will devote its energies and resources to the achievement of this aim. The ECEN will not discriminate on grounds of age, colour, disability, ethnic origin, gender, HIV status, immigration status, marital status, social or economic status, nationality or national origins, race, faith, religion or belief, responsibility for dependents, sexuality, trade union membership or unrelated criminal conviction. The ECEN will promote equality of access and opportunity for those within our community who may suffer from unfair treatment on any of these grounds including those disadvantaged through multiple forms of discrimination. The ECEN will strive to eliminate all forms of discrimination. We recognise that this requires not only a commitment to remove discrimination but also action through positive policies to redress the inequalities produced by past discrimination. This will apply not only to the manner in which the ECEN itself operates but also to any services or functions for which it has a responsibility. Organisations that are members of the ECEN have a commitment to the principles embodied in ECEN's Equalities Statement, and the implications for their service users and disadvantaged groups within Enfield's community. It lists all the things we need to consider when planning an event, to make it accessible to as many people as possible.
